OSCE convenes Third International Training Board Meeting on Explosive Hazards

On 11 February 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe’s Integrated Co-operation on Explosive Hazards (ICExH) programme convened the Third International Training Board Meeting in a hybrid format in Dushanbe. The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders for strategic dialogue and co-ordination on explosive hazards reduction in Central Asia.

The meeting served as a dynamic platform for the OSCE, beneficiaries, and international and regional partners to discuss the planning and implementation of activities for 2026. Participants also reflected on lessons learned and best practices from previous initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in project implementation.

Participants included representatives from the OSCE Secretariat and field operations, Ministries of Defence and Border Troops from across Central Asia, the United States Embassy, US Army Central (USARCENT), and Fondation Suisse de Déminage (FSD). The project team presented key achievements from 2025 and introduced the 2026 activity calendar, outlining upcoming training and exchange activities.

The final session featured a presentation of “Assistance Mechanisms for Explosive Hazard Support and Humanitarian Mine Action”, delivered by the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and USARCENT, highlighting the OSCE’s and partners’ continued commitment to enhancing safety and resilience in affected regions.

The meeting marked an important step in strengthening regional co-operation and promoting best practices in explosive hazards reduction in Central Asia, in line with the project’s overarching goal of enhancing regional security and capacity building.
