Two two-day workshops organized by the OSCE Office in Tajikistan on development of anti-corruption strategies for civil society on 30-31 March and government officials on 2-3 April 2015 took place in Dushanbe.

An international expert trained participants on concrete steps for developing a cohesive anti-corruption strategy. Participants also familiarized themselves with different analytical tools that help set realistic objectives for anti-corruption programmes.

State representatives of various government institutions learned in practical sessions how to make a preliminary analysis of high-risk corruption areas and translate these into achievable objectives and activities.

“In line with recent international recommendations, the Office will produce a methodology on how to elaborate, monitor and evaluate anti-corruption strategies. These workshops mark the first activity of the Office in a series of initiatives in this respect,” said Senior Anti-Corruption Officer at the OSCE Office in Tajikistan Martina Schmidt.

The Office will organize a wide range of activities on anti-corruption strategies over the coming two years that will facilitate the creation of a cross-institutional pool of experts within state structures.

Three follow-up workshops will be held in May, June and September 2015.
