Tajik border law enforcement agencies complete risk analysis, profiling and management training course

DUSHANBE, 30 January 2015– Twenty-five officers from border, customs and interior agencies of Tajikistan completed today a one-week training course on risk analysis, profiling and management for combating transnational threats.

Participants worked on identification, analysis and classification of risks, evaluating context and potential risks, and risk assessment at land and airport for drug trafficking and other transnational treats. Additionally, a case study was delivered to respond to terrorist attack during hostage crises within the frame of risk management.

"The Office in Tajikistan is helping improve the professionalism and skills of Tajik border and security agencies by developing their operational capacity, to help successfully respond transnational threats that will lead to better national and regional stability,” said Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, Ambassador Markus Mueller.

Border officials from Tajik Border Troops, Customs Service, State Committee on National Security, Drug Control Agency and the Interior Ministry took part in the training course.

The course was conducted as part of the border security programme, focusing on building national capacity of the Tajik border security and management agencies.
