OSCE organizes dialogue platform on countering trafficking in human beings in Tajikistan

On 28 August 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, in co-operation with the Centre for Combating Trafficking in Persons under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, held a Dialogue Platform on Countering Trafficking in Human Beings (CTHB) in Dushanbe.

The event brought together 30 representatives of government entities and members of the Inter-Ministerial Commission on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (IMCCTHB) responsible for the implementation of the National Action Plan on CTHBCTHB
Combating trafficking in human beings for 2025–2027, alongside representatives of civil society and international organizations.

Participants discussed the results and recommendations of information sessions, held from February to March 2026, on countering trafficking in human beings for students at Tajik universities. During the Dialogue Platform, Bobojon Jahongir, head of the Department of Child Rights Protection at the Ministry of Education and Science, presented the main results of the information campaign, followed by a question-and-answer session.

The event also included the presentation of an Office-commissioned guide on conducting parallel financial investigations into human trafficking cases. Developed in co-operation with the IMCCTHB, the guide aims at enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of investigative and law enforcement officers to identify, track and seize illicit proceeds from human trafficking. Firuz Sattorov, an independent expert on countering trafficking in human beings, presented the guide and took part in a question-and-answer session.

Participants also held an open discussion on upcoming activities under the National Action Plan on CTHB for 2025–2027, providing an opportunity to review and co-ordinate planned activities.

The activity is part of the OSCE’s support for the Government of Tajikistan in implementing its commitments to prevent and combat all forms of domestic violence and human trafficking, including the Law and National Action Plan on CTHB for 2025–2027.
