OSCE signs Joint Plan of Action and hands over equipment and sports items for community engagement activities to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs

On 20 January 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (the Office) signed a Joint Plan of Action with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan for the implementation of activities, events, and initiatives in 2026. The Plan outlines key areas of co-operation aimed at enhancing law enforcement effectiveness and strengthening community engagement.

On 20 January 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (the Office) signed a Joint Plan of Action with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan for the implementation of activities, events, and initiatives in 2026. The Plan outlines key areas of co-operation aimed at enhancing law enforcement effectiveness and strengthening community engagement.

The Joint Plan establishes a structured framework for ongoing police reform, focusing on regular coordination meetings to review progress, strengthening community engagement mechanisms, and enhancing the capacities of internal structures through targeted training and equipment support.

In addition to the signing ceremony, the Office handed over technical equipment and sports items to the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Public Order Department and the Dynamo Sports Society. The donation aims to support the Ministry’s internal reform efforts and to strengthen police services. The technical equipment will enhance the capacity of the Public Order Department to support the work of Public Councils in the Khatlon region, while the sports items will be used in public awareness campaigns among youth addressing drug-related issues.

The signing and handover ceremony was attended by Colonel Tolehzoda Azam Tolib, National Coordinator on Police Reform under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Miroslav Milojevic, Acting Head of the Politico-Military Department at the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe. Both sides expressed appreciation for the ongoing co-operation and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their partnership.
