Biography
Ambassador Salome Steib is the current Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and has served with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) since 2013, holding senior roles in international cooperation and economic governance. She has worked extensively on anti-corruption and asset recovery at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), focusing on the restitution of illicit assets to partner countries.
From 2018 to 2020, she was Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in South Sudan. Most recently, from 2020 to 2025, she served as Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Tajikistan, where she led programmes on governance, economic development, and climate resilience, and was elected Co-Chair of the Donor Coordination Council.
Ms. Steib holds a Master’s degree in Economics and International Development and is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and her native German.
