OSCE supports the Ministry of Interior in conducting an awareness campaign on prevention of drug addiction, juvenile delinquency, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan (MIA), in co-operation with the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, has successfully concluded the awareness campaign "Prevention of Drug Addiction, Juvenile Delinquency, and Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle", which ran from 4 April to 28 April 2026.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan (MIA), in co-operation with the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, has successfully concluded the awareness campaign "Prevention of Drug Addiction, Juvenile Delinquency, and Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle", which ran from 4 April to 28 April 2026. The campaign combined informational sessions with sports competitions, culminating in award ceremonies held across various regions of Tajikistan.
The initiative aimed to address drug addiction, vagrancy, and other forms of juvenile delinquency by promoting healthy lifestyles among young people through sports. Officers from the MIA’s Service for the Prevention of Youth Delinquency and the Department for Combating Drug Trafficking, in co-operation with Ministry of Health and Social Protection delivered seminars and information sessions.
More than 1,040 participants (including 660 men and 380 women) took part in the campaign.
The campaign concluded with a final event in Farkhor District on 28 April 2026. It sought to raise awareness, particularly among young people, about the risks and consequences of drug use, while encouraging positive alternatives and preventing juvenile offenses. The Office supported the campaign by providing sports equipment, souvenirs, printed materials, and prizes. In his remarks, Colonel of Militia Shoev Asliddin, First Deputy Head of the MIA “Dynamo” highlighted the role of sport as a constructive alternative, noting that time otherwise spent on harmful activities can be redirected toward building discipline, resilience, and personal development through sport.
