On 2 February 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe donated a vehicle to the Women Resource Centre (WRC) “Khingob” in Tavildara, Sangvor district. The donation strengthens the centre’s ability to provide critical support to survivors of domestic violence in remote areas.

The handover was attended by Tatiana Turcan, Acting Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, and Himmatsho Ghairatov, Director of WRC “Khingob,” highlighting the importance of continued support for women in Tavildara.

The WRC provides essential legal, psychosocial, and protection services to women and families who often face isolation, limited infrastructure, and challenging terrain. Teams regularly travel to rural villages to offer confidential counselling, legal aid, and awareness sessions, often carrying sensitive documents and equipment over roads prone to snow, landslides, and extreme weather.

With this new vehicle, teams can access mountain communities more safely and reliably, ensuring uninterrupted delivery of life-saving services.

Across Tajikistan, the OSCE Programme Office supports victims of domestic violence through a network of 13 OSCE-established Women Resource Centres, implemented in collaboration with local authorities. The ongoing project, “Supporting and Strengthening the Women’s Resource Centres in Tajikistan,” is funded by Norway, Finland, and Germany.
