On 1 December 2025, the Women’s Resource Centre “Assotsiatsiai Ziyoiyoni Ilmi-Tekhnikii Tojikiston” (AZIT), in collaboration with Khujand State University and with the support of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, held the one-day exhibition “Voices of the Unheard”, dedicated to the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
The event was moderated by the University’s Vice-Rector Malohat Ehsonzoda, who delivered opening remarks highlighting the importance of collective efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
The exhibition shed light on the often-silenced experiences of survivors of gender-based violence. Through compelling visuals and audio narratives, it aimed to raise awareness, break the silence, empower survivors, and inspire communities to take action.
Speakers from the university, regional government bodies, including the Committee on Family Affairs, civil society organizations, and the OSCE addressed both the ongoing challenges and the progress being made in combating domestic violence in Tajikistan.
The event brought together 170 participants - 130 women and 40 men - including students, professors, and invited guests, demonstrating strong academic and youth engagement in the fight against gender-based violence.
The OSCE, educational institutions, government partners, and civil society remain committed to advancing gender equality and combating gender-based violence, acknowledging that continued collaboration is essential to ensuring a safer and more inclusive future for all.
