The OSCE Office in Tajikistan supported the Shaartuz district boarding school by donating a new transformer to provide uninterrupted supply of electricity in a ceremony held on 10 April 2017.
The boarding school is home to 70 orphans and it was constructed in 1996. The donation was in response to a letter from the school director asking the Office to help with the purchase of a new transformer as the school was using firewood for cooking and heating due to problems with electricity supply.
