The OSCE Office in Tajikistan promotes and protects gender equality, promotes the empowerment of women and girls, and supports community-based education and counselling. It also strengthens co-operation between civil society and government actors and structures at the local level, a relationship that fosters confidence-building, mutual learning and sustainability.
OSCE-supported Women's Resource Centres involving thirteen NGOs operate in Khuroson, Kumsangir, Rumi, Kabodiyon, Jilikul, Kulyab, Garm, Istaravshan, Penjikent, Isfara, Vorukh, Tavildara and Shurabad districts.
